Naremburn Cammeray Anglican Church

Naremburn Cammeray Anglican Church is a dynamic and growing Anglican Church on Sydney's North Shore. It is has three centres of Ministry - Naremburn, Cammeray and Naremburn Asian Australian Church - yet we are one Church, with one staff team, that serves 9 congregations.

We are also in partnership with the Sydney Japanese Evangelical Church to reach Japanese people in our area.

We are genuinely seeking to make a difference in our community and in our city and in the world to the honour of Jesus Christ.

We are not a church that uncritically spurns tradition and embraces everything new. We desire to be enterprising and creative, bold and winsome as we seek to continue to grow. Most importantly we want to help people to understand the importance and significance of Jesus Christ for their life and future.

What we believe

The Anglican Church is a confessional Church. Our beliefs are revealed in the Bible, they are summarized in the 39 articles of religion, and worked out in the principles and theology of Thomas Cranmer’s Book of Common Prayer.

We believe that

  • The Bible is the clearest way you can know God and our authority in matters of life and practice.
  • You can come to God because of Jesus Christ.
  • Church is to be an enjoyable time where we meet, learn from the Bible, serve, pray and encourage one another.
  • The great news about Jesus Christ is not for private consumption, but with respect and gentleness is to be offered to all people.

As a Church we acknowledge our need to be wary of complacency and conscious of;

Growing in Witness & Outreach, Prayerfully:

  • Lifting our profile in the community.
  • The great news about Jesus Christ is not for private consumption, but with respect and gentleness is to be offered to all people.
  • Inviting our friends and neighbours to church.
  • Calling upon people to repent and trust in Jesus.
  • Taking God’s Good News beyond Sydney and Australia.

Growing in Insight & Understanding, Prayerfully:

  • Preaching the Bible faithfully so we may hear God’s voice.
  • Teaching the Bible to each other and encouraging growth in godliness.
  • Training people to use the Bible in order to make disciples.

Growing in Loving Service, Prayerfully:

  • Building loving relationships.
  • Creating opportunities to serve.
  • Encouraging involvement.
