NCACHURCH has been growing and is continuing to grow, to the point where our facilities are now stretched beyond their limit. We have a vision of having 1000 people in our church meetings by 2014. However this would only be about 5% of our local area. To meet our current needs and provide a platform for future growth we needed to expand our infrastructure.
Cammeray Development
The current facilities at Cammeray are not large enough for our ever-expanding Sunday church meetings and other ministry uses of the facilities during the week. The facilities lack the flexibility required for the diversity of ministries being undertaken on the site. The size of the upstairs meeting hall is now restricting our growth, and for the 9am congregation, both the pre-school group and the school aged groups of children no longer meet on site due to a lack of space and instead meet at Cammeray Public School. Additionally, facilities available for children’s groups, Bible study groups and other functions are small and sub-substandard.
The land to the west and south of the church building gives us ample space to expand the size of the facilities to both cater for larger groups meeting on site as well providing better facilities for our various small groups and children's and youth groups. As foreshadowed, we are also seriously examining the feasibility of a Christian pre-school on site.
In late 2009 we raised some initial funds for various consultants' reports and initial design work to assess the feasibility of undertaking development of the Cammeray site. The reports have been undertaken in the last few months and we are continuing to work with the architect as he considers the findings in those reports and works on his design. We expect to complete the feasibility and design work this year and have a detailed design before the Parish for comment.
Like the PMC project at Naremburn, we move forward prayerfully but with confidence that great things can be achieved under God's providence.
Parish Ministry Centre @ Naremburn
After two years of discussion, planning, dreaming and prayerful dependence, a proposal was drafted and communicated for a Parish Ministry Centre that addresses our current and future needs.
This project has been spearheaded by our Parish Council, Wardens, and a series of specialists have volunteered to work on this project. A small sub-committee of Parish Council has met regularly to further the project. Only outside consultants have received payment for their work (such as the architect who has done drawings for us).
Information about the project, questions and answers and our timetable may be found in the brochures below and throughout the other pages in this section.
