Mission 2008 |
Every year NCACHURCH runs a mission, during which we seek to reach out to our community, our friends and our family members who do not know Jesus. We believe that the great news abotu Jesus is not for private consumption but with gentleness and respect, is to be offered to all people. Our Mission Week has traditionally been in October and the focus of this time is our Sunday services where people are invited to receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. We do mission because the love of Christ compels us to tell people about Jesus. That is the task of the church. Mission 2008 In 2008, we will do mission again, compelled by the love of Christ, with two changes. What's New :: Part One We will be running our Mission in August in 2008 under the banner of "Start the Ultimate Relationship". From August 3-10 we will be seeking to engage with our community and have them engage with Christ. We will proclaim Christ and encourage men and women, boys and girls to come and receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. What's New :: Part Two We will be running our mission at the same time, and under the same banner, as many other churches around Sydney. We will not necessarily be working in conjunction with others, but will be in partnership through prayer and sharing resources and ideas in preparation for and during Mission 2008. What's New :: Part Three We are asking all our church members to come and join us for the week. That is, we are asking everyone to take a week off doing what they normally do, and come and do mission with us full-time for the week. Our aim is to have more than half the members of our church engaged in full-time mission with us from August 3-10, 2008. Many other churches will be doing the same thing. We would love to have everyone join us but realise that some people are unable to take leave at this time of year. For most though, it will be possible. What to do NOW! 1. Start praying about Mission 2008. 2. Have a look at the DRAFT program (download from right panel) and start to think about the sorts events and activities you would like to be involved in planning and participating in during the week. 3. Decide now to join us for the week. If required, make arrangements with work to have a week of religious or annual leave. 4. Look out for planning and training meetings that will start in January.
