Plans for 2008 revealed at the Annual Parish Day

On Sunday November 11, all the congregations of NCACHURCH gathered for our Annual Parish Day. It was a superb time for adults and kids alike as we spent three and a half hours gathered together to hear God's word and plan and pray for 2008.

Rick Smith spoke powerfully from Haggai 1, calling on everyone to see themselves as the church, not just connected with the church. He called on all of us to live as a church with a mission to reach out to those around us who do not know Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. A DVD of Rick's talk will be available soon.

In the second session, plans for Mission 2008 and the 2008 Weekendaway were revealed.

Heads turned as Nigel Fortescue revealed plans for a Mission like we have never attempted before. After hearing of the plans, many people were excited and looking forward to such an ambitious program. Read more here.

We also gave out the Registration Form for the combined NCACHURCH Weekendaway from February 1 to 3, 2008. There is an early bird discount if you register and pay before December 31. Read more here.

As a church we then completed the first session of the new 6 Steps to Talking About Jesus Course. This raised many good questions and challenged those who came to think about how they are personally reaching out to their friends and family who do not know Jesus.

The course will be completed in BS Groups in 2008.

It was a great day overall, topped off by a brilliant pot-luck lunch.
